PPA Support

We supply fully qualified sports coaches to act as cover for teachers during their planning, preparation and assessment time. We do not sub contract and all coaches are employed by First Step and have a proven coaching pedigree. The emphasis of all our sessions is skill development.

We deliver structured lesson plans that cover all aspects of curriculum sport, as delivery is carried out by sports specialist exceeding the government requirements for primary physical education whilst serving to inspire children to a more physically active lifestyle.

We are totally flexible with the way are sessions are implemented our aim is to fit into the existing school routine with minimum disruption to the timetable.

Our coaches prepare development and assessment reports for each child which can be used in their school reports.

Curriculum support

We specialise in providing Coaches with a proven background in their sport and experience working with children, to deliver schemes of work produced in line with the national curriculum.

Multi Skills

We also specialise in Multi Skills Development, These sessions are not based around conventional sports, which many children do not enjoy and can cause poor participation and slow development. Our Multi skills program is designed to introduce and develop;

Norwich Union ShineAwards

The Norwich Union shine:awards provide opportunities for children from the age of three and upwards to try athletics through fun physical challenges and rewards them for their efforts. They promote an incentive to learn and to develop individual athletic skill through four levels of activity.

First Step specialise in the development of athletics throughout South Wales especially at Key Stage 2 level, the shine:awards are an excellent way of introducing and developing all athletics skills. The Shine awards scheme can be delivered by our coaches on school premises, as an extra curricular activity. We have all the equipment needed all we require is an open space, indoors or out for the children to participate.
